Will your family portrait survive a digital extinction?Turn your family portrait into a timeless treasure. Have you ever flicked through a family photo album and loved every moment? Did you look over the family memories with your mum or maybe a grandparent, laughing and sighing at the memories? I wonder what our own children will have to flick through – a floppy disc or a broken USB? What about the pictures you have on your phone – how will they be reached? While our children are the most photographed generation ever, scientists say there will be few of their photos available for future generations. Why? Because the images are almost never printed. The digital technology develops so quickly that ways to store data soon go...
Yet another busy day whirs by. Did you manage to do anything for yourself? Or, was it another day when you juggled so many plates it’s a wonder they didn’t come crashing down? When everyone wants a little piece of you, you’re like a computer with multiple tabs open and running in your ‘browser.’ With kids around, your mind never goes on standby. Finally, it’s quiet. The kids are in bed, settled and asleep. How can we wind down and sleep peacefully? We know a well-rested parent can conquer the world (of tantrums, sibling wars, and school-runs). But, it’s hard to come by. Frantic to achieve deep restorative sleep and to let go of stress, I looked for a few things to help me to...
My photography studio is a toddler, and I can't believe we made it! It’s surreal to think two years ago I wasn’t sure I could even do it. With my baby in my arms, committing to a commercial space was scary, but in my heart, I wanted to do it. Little did I know what I would learn or how I would grow as a photographer and as an artist, too. It was not only because I had a very young family that I wanted to create a permanent photographic studio. I knew it was time for space where I could prioritize my clients’ wish for exclusive baby keepsakes. I dreamed of shooting beautifully lit photographs that captured the tenderness of a newborn; the radiance...
Not on Dublin’s high-street: a bespoke baby foot and hand cast with professional baby portrait You have brought a new, precious life into the world. Can you believe how perfect your little miracle is? Your heart melts, as you fall under their spell. They reach up to you. You place your finger in the palm of their tiny hand... Their chubby, perfect foot kicks the air. You hold it gently, almost unable to believe this life is yours to cherish and protect. Those tiny hands that wrap around your finger will soon be bigger. Those darling little feet will soon try on shoes for a nursery. Don’t you wish they might stay this way forever? As a mother of two, I know how priceless baby...
Hugo was 3 months old When I meet him and his family in my studio for his baby photographs. I also meet Gabriel, Hugo’s big brother who was few months short of 2 years of age at the time. I can simpy say, the session was a lot of fun. Bribing, singing, playing toddler games to get the two boys in one picture together was the only way to work that day. But it did happen, the two boys in one place at one time and the end result, the big canvas that’s in their family home wall, is really worth it. [ess_grid alias="hugo gab blog"]

I meet Olivia just before the Christmas break when she was only 14 days new. Gorgeous little darling has watched me work with her amazing big eyes. Olivia was so alert for her age. At mum's request, we used a lot of pinks. It also was great opportunity to capture the priceless family photo of the new family. There is nothing as amazing as seeing the love and happiness that new baby brings into the world. I hope these images are going to be treasured and loved for generations to come. The family legacy preserves with printed images.

When I got contacted by Liam’s mum first time baby Liam just arrived …. 4 weeks earlier than expected! During our pre session consultation I got to know what is mum’s and dad’s preferred style and I quickly learnt that the creams and neutral with a hint of blue would be highly appreciated in styling the session. Little Liam was a really good model to work with. He had great time being cuddled in the arms for the family photos. Then with no trouble settled for a nap to let me take a precious images documenting time of him being so fresh and small. I have chosen to show you a collection of black and white images his parents picked to go into the little album. I am so…
This is Donnacha. One of the cutest boys I have yet to photograph. His cake smash session was the last milestone we were recording during his first year, to celebrate Donnacha’s first birthday. We started the photo session with some non messy portraits of our little model. A snap with O. N. E. is necessary for the occasion. At last he has got his cake. All the ways of eating it were tested. The “hands off” style was our favourite 🙂 The joy of messy fun is priceless. All the fantastic expressions I am able to capture. Most honest of images. At the end we have given Donnacha a bath, yet another opportunity for great fun, and great images 🙂 Interested in getting…
