Make up conturing ideas for different face shapes advice for maternity photoshoot and family portrait
The make-up guide for your maternity or family photoshoot is here! When the date of your maternity or family photoshoot nears, you begin to think of all the preparations. To make sure you get the most out of the day, these are important factors to consider your make-up and hair, and your outfit.   But overall, one of the most important things to consider is your make-up.   Before we start on the different types of make-up suitable for the session, I want to stress this most important bit: Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise! Moisturise your skin well, the night before the session to give it the best chance to glow the next day. Whether or not you wear make-up every day, it is a good idea...

What will happen to your family portrait in few years time?

digital gallery wall
Will your family portrait survive a digital extinction?Turn your family portrait into a timeless treasure. Did you look over the family portraits with your mum or maybe a grandparent, laughing and sighing at the memories? Have you ever flicked through a family photo album and loved every moment? I wonder what our own children will have to flick through – a floppy disc or a broken USB? What about the pictures you have on your phone – how will they be reached? While our children are the most photographed generation ever, scientists say there will be few of their photos available for future generations. Why? Because the images are almost never printed. The digital technology develops so quickly that ways to store data soon go...

Ways to unwind – ideas for busy mum.

relax and unwind tips for mums
Yet another busy day whirs by. Did you manage to do anything for yourself? Or, was it another day when you juggled so many plates it’s a wonder they didn’t come crashing down? When everyone wants a little piece of you, you’re like a computer with multiple tabs open and running in your ‘browser.’ With kids around, your mind never goes on standby. Finally, it’s quiet. The kids are in bed, settled and asleep. How can we wind down and sleep peacefully? We know a well-rested parent can conquer the world (of tantrums, sibling wars, and school-runs). But, it’s hard to come by. Frantic to achieve deep restorative sleep and to let go of stress, I looked for a few things to help me to...

What do you do when your baby turns two?

My photography studio is a toddler, and I can't believe we made it! It’s surreal to think two years ago I wasn’t sure I could even do it. With my baby in my arms, committing to a commercial space was scary, but in my heart, I wanted to do it. Little did I know what I would learn or how I would grow as a photographer and as an artist, too. It was not only because I had a very young family that I wanted to create a permanent photographic studio. I knew it was time for space where I could prioritize my clients’ wish for exclusive baby keepsakes. I dreamed of shooting beautifully lit photographs that captured the tenderness of a newborn; the radiance...

Hugo and Gabriel photos | sibling portrait Dublin

sibling photos dublin photography studio babies kids
Hugo was 3 months old When I met him and his family in my studio for his baby photographs. I also met Gabriel, Hugo’s big brother who was a few months short of 2 years of age at the time. I can simply say, the session was a lot of fun. Bribing, singing, and playing toddler games to get the two boys in one picture together was the only way to work that day. But it did happen, the two boys in one place at one time, and the end result, the big canvas that’s in their family home wall, is really worth it. [ess_grid alias="hugo gab blog"]

Olivia’s first photos | Newborn photography Dublin

I met Olivia for her newborn photos just before the Christmas break when she was only 14 days new. Gorgeous little darling has watched me work with her amazing big eyes. Olivia was so alert for her age. At Mum's request, we used a lot of pinks. It also was great opportunity to capture the priceless family photo of the new family. There is nothing as amazing as seeing the love and happiness that new baby brings into the world.   I hope these images are going to be treasured and loved for generations to come. The family legacy preserves with printed images.

The perfect gift for Nana. | Family photography Dublin

all the grandchildren gift for nana idea photography dublin
It’s been a few days since Christmas and we are all slowly getting back to a normal routine again. On my first day back I opened a fab email from a family that I had photographed a few weeks ago. Nanna got her Christmas gift. Together we have created images of all the new arrivals and updates of family portraits and some up-to-date snaps of the cheeky monkeys over the last few years. This time they have asked for a “good photo of all the grandchildren” So we collected the crowd in the studio. It was fun to work with all the children, getting them in the mood for the best snap possible. I did use some “Photoshop magic” but the final image was a...
